80% of women give birth at home, typically in a dirt floor hut with oversight of a partially trained midwife who often only has access to unsterilized equipment.
When complications arise, and they do for 40% of women, having an ER Birthing Suite means life or death for both newborns and moms - especially those needing C-Sections.
Our priority is to raise funds to ensure our birthing suite has an ergonomic bed, ensuite bathroom, and warming lights for the newborns.
