In a “normal” world, FFLV empowers girls and women through education and support the poorest of the poor through a variety of programs, such as food distribution, medical assistance and financial support. Since the schools have been closed due to Covid-19, we find ourselves back to where Food For Life Vrindavan started many years back. Supporting the families of the 1500 students and the needy people of the community with food rations, medical assistance and financial support for their basic needs like paying rent for their humble homes in the slums to avoid them ending on the streets. A monthly food ration for a family of 4 costs $25 and provides them with basics such as rice, lentils, wheat flour, cooking oil, sugar, salt, tea and when available fresh vegetables. Our aim is to give out 800 food rations with this fundraiser. Thousands of people in Vrindavan are dependent on the support of FFLV to survive these devastating times.
