Shall We Dance is a fundraiser for the Sexual Assault Crisis Center - Fox Cities. Every year they have a casting call seeking people to dance, raise $10,000 and heighten awareness for their work. I applied to dance because I am a survivor. It never goes away. This is an opportunity for me to heal and empower more people to seek help and start their healing journey. They provide all programs and services at no cost to victim survivors of sexual violence. This includes counseling, advocacy, support groups and prevention education. In 2015, they started the local Human Sex Trafficking Steering Committee. Many victims are stalked by their traffickers after they leave the life. I’m raising money for stalking kits to help survivors. The items are put into a backpack and include: a journal to track incidents, calendar, 4 mini trail cameras to place in trees/bushes, window and door alarms, key chain alarm, flash drive, secret lipstick tube for emergency numbers, trac phone and home camera.
