204.000 children between 0 - 14 years from the North - East region of Romania live below the poverty line. These children require proper nourishment to grow, learn, play and enjoy childhood. Our goal for this project, here at Save the Children Iasi, is just this: to provide a hot and healthy meal for 150 children attending our educational centers everyday for 5 months. As their families are unable to provide at least one healthy meal on a daily basis, they may often live 1 to 3 days on leftovers or inadequate nourishment for their age and level of activity, such as a bread a day or a salami for 2-3 days or expired food. Save the Children Iasi was founded in 1991 and joined from the very beginning the children's rights movement. All the programs of the Iasi branch have been and will be addressed to all children, paying special attention to those in difficult socio-economic contexts. Thank you for your generosity!
