In Kenya, one in four children suffer from stunting due to chronic undernutrition. At Flying Kites in Kenya, we recognize that education is a path out of poverty, but without access to food at school, hungry students cannot learn. With barely enough funds to secure the most basic of school supplies, the majority of schools are unable to offer meals to their students. To meet this critical need, Flying Kites is partnering with school leaders, teachers, and families to introduce cost-sharing, sustainable School Meals Programs that provide a warm daily meal to every student across our Network and address the most significant barrier to learning in our rural district — hunger. Join me in fundraising $14,896 (which will be matched by The doTERRA Healing Hands Foundation!) to purchase ingredients for the preparation of one warm daily meal of uji (porridge) every school day of the 2022 Academic Year (April 25, 2022 through November 23, 2022) – for the 931 students at Mucibau Primary School.
