Child abuse and neglect is highly prevalent nationally and in Missouri; unfortunately, often not disclosed and has substantial impacts in the short-term and long-term health of both survivors and their families. Responding to and providing care for children who are victims of sexual and physical abuse, neglect and exploitation is necessary. The Northwest Missouri Children’s Advocacy Task Force is this cornerstone to offering hope, healing and justice for alleged victims of child abuse and their families in the region. Supporting healing by ensuring children are listened to, and receive the critical support, victim advocacy, medical care, and mental health care they need to recover from abuse is a priority. Through this project, we would like to support the task force’s groundwork as they build their children’s advocacy center. This space will provide each child a space for their voices to be heard while being offered hope, healing and justice.
