Our project goal with Closing the Digital Divide is to help schools and the community of Meru, Kenya to break the cycle of poverty by empowering people through education. Closing the Digital Divide will Support Children and create Self-Reliance through education and use of computers. We plan on getting twenty-five computers (15-Corei 5 & 10-Corei 7), printer, interactive whiteboard, internet connections, and software to keep the community up to date with current technologies. Education has been cited as one way to empower people to help break the cycle of poverty. Children who acquire quality education can easily obtain employment. This project allows them to take charge of their lives because they are informed about what is going on within their own environment and globally. With modern global trends in education, computers are incorporated in almost all educational activities to help learning institutions and communities. We strive to support schools and the community of Meru, Kenya
