Journey Camp is designed to meet the developmental and relational needs of children and teens from "hard places". Camp is structured to focus on the importance of being able to "self-regulate". Every child will be matched with a one-on-one camp buddy. The campers and buddies will participate in all activities together. Some of the elements of camp include :movement, sensory, nurture group, "crash and bump" circuit, crafts and life skills. Every activity has an element of vestibular and proprioceptive exercises. The camp's foundation is TBRI (Trust Based Relational Intervention). The core principles are connecting, empowering and correcting. Camp focuses primarily on connecting and empowering kids and teens. Every camper will receive a sensory tool kit to help them following camp. Every parent or guardian will receive training and resources before their child attends camp.
