One School, One Book is a family literacy program that enables us to create a school-wide book club at our elementary school. During the four week program the entire school reads the same book at home with their families. Our goal is to saturate our school community with literacy in a fun and engaging way that centers around families reading together. This program also creates a platform for our community to focus on a shared theme from the book, such as kindness, responsibility, or empathy. By focusing on positive character traits we hope to impact the culture at Washington, helping to nurture children who are kind, connected and caring. Your donation allows us to purchase one book for each student and staff member at our school! It also helps us cover other costs such as trivia prizes and fun recess activities related to our book.
