Hurricane Ian decimated the south-western coast of Florida. The destruction to infrastructure has been staggering. Homes were flooded to the second floor, buildings brought down to the ground as rubble, and bridges and roadways have been washed away.
Our volunteer-powered disaster-relief program is in motion in Fort Myers, Florida to provide relief work to the surrounding areas. We are performing chainsaw work to remove fallen and hazardous trees, removing debris, mucking, gutting and doing mold sanitation to get community members back into their homes as soon as possible.
After an initial period of clean up and stabilization activities we will be transitioning to making hurricane repairs for vulnerable households. We will be focusing our efforts on underserved communities who have lost everything, are without insurance and would otherwise remain in a desperate situation
