I am partnering with the San Pedro Sister Community to advance their work in San Pedro, El Salvador. San Pedro is a community of campesinos (small farmers) in a mountainous region of El Salvador that was devastated by the civil war of the 1980s. San Pedro is in the Morazan department, which, according to the Human Development Index, is the poorest of the 14 departments in El Salvador.
The community lacks basic infrastructure, such as roads, drinking water, hygiene and health services. Without a water source that can provide enough water for the whole community, women and children must collect water for daily use, far from their homes, from natural springs on public and private lands.
With a modest investment we can make their lives better!
With your help we will provide rain gutters and 2500 liter storage tanks to 15 homes with the greatest need. In addition, we will supply 30 homes with small water filters to provide clean, safe drinking water for their families.
