The Mississippi Delta Nature and Learning (MDNLC) is a place that cares for the earth and the people who live here. We do this by providing creative, educational outdoor spaces for children and their families, job training for youth, and outdoor community recreation. With initial support from local foundations and businesses, the Heart and Soul Children's Garden is nearing completion. Once open, we will have field trips for elementary-age children, a youth agribusiness program for middle school youth, and an AmeriCorps environmental stewardship program for high school and early college students. Due to the local area having a poverty rate nearly three times the national average, there is limited local funds available. Local schools and organizations do the best they can, but with limited resources, kids don't get as many chances as they deserve. By giving to this project, you're giving 12,000 kids a year the chance to play, learn, and work towards their futures.
