1.5 million Syrian refugees take shelter in Lebanon. Most live in a region of the country known as Becaa valley, a fertile region of flat land in Eastern Lebanon. Hundreds of thousands of people live in white tents as far as the eye can see. Often, for work, they are paid less than minimum wage to work and till the fields. Our objective as Hope Humanitarians is to bring them hope for the future through friendship and supplies. This year, Hope Humanitarian plans on providing 500 food packages along with 500 hygiene kits to families that have been identified by on-the-ground partners in Lebanon. We also plan on providing the local refugee schools with educational supplies and stationery; something that Syrian schools in the area are seriously lacking.
