We currently only have 4 rudimentary toilets for our kindergarten and primary school, which has over 200 students and teachers. Neither are much better than holes in the ground. Infections and diarrheal illnesses occur, endangering children's health and causing students to miss classes. We urgently need new hygienic toilets that can be easily kept clean, as well as adequate sinks for washing hands. In addition, the drinking water filter system is no longer sufficient for the size of the school. We therefore urgently need an efficient filter system that works through solar operation and can supply the school, the orphanage and the kindergarten with sufficient drinking water. Drinking water is in short supply and many children are not given anything to drink apart from liquid corn porridge until the evening. This particularly affects half of our students who come from very poor families. With classes lasting until 5pm, the day is very tiring and hydration is extremely important.
