At Families Mentoring Families, we take proactive measures to combat trafficking. Our aftercare program in Ghana focuses on literacy, vocational skills, & leadership/entrepreneurial development for vulnerable populations.
The Construction of the Vocational Training Center will create a hub of empowerment, with facilities to teach culinary skills, tailoring, sewing, & hairdressing. All courses include leadership and entrepreneurial modules, empowering survivors to take charge of their lives and contribute in meaningful ways. This lifts and liberates everyone in their community and prevents future trafficking.
These skills are now being taught onsite, but more space is needed. The new facility will feature storage for food, clothing, sewing machines, & vocational supplies; a fully-equipped commercial kitchen serving as food prep and a dining hall for residents; and another large classroom/meeting room upstairs where they can learn together.
