Freedom House Detroit is a residence program for asylum seekers. Many have endured torture and all have been forced to flee because of persecution in their home countries. They stay at Freedom House for up to two years where they receive aid in starting new lives. The goal of the program is to have each resident become a contributing member of society. They begin the healing journey with medical and legal aid and then begin the process of volunteering with the goal of acquiring employment to foster independence and lead to self sufficiency. There is an urgent need for the residents of Freedom House Detroit to have access to transportation. Monthly bus passes cover transportation for many residents each day. These vital bus passes allow the residents to get to interviews, employment, as well as legal and medical appointments. I am urgently trying to meet my goal of $4970.00 which will be matched by Doterra and provide 12 bus passes each month for 12 months. Can you help?
