At just six years old, Eliza Stewart was inspired to make a difference. Motivated by those around her, she began an annual effort to raise funds for those affected by the 2010 earthquake in Haiti. Since then, hurricanes, tropical storms, and recent earthquakes have continued to leave the people of Haiti in a vulnerable position. In Haiti, losing a limb often means being excluded from functional society and unable to find regular employment. The funds raised will be donated to Healing Hands for Haiti, a non-profit organization dedicated to training and serving Haitians through a comprehensive rehabilitation program. This includes occupational and speech therapy, prosthetic support, and collaboration with the wheelchair program of The Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints. These funds will specifically provide: 16 prosthetic limbs, 20 braces, 20 wheelchair repairs/maintenance, 20 sets of crutches, 40 walking canes, 100 stroke/amputation physical therapy appointments.
