In Bethlehem 70% of the economy revolves around tourism. Currently, due to the pandemic no tourists or pilgrims visit the Holy Land. Covid19 has crushed Bethlehem's already fragile economy. This has left local people in dispair. Most families have no income since March 2020 and are living from savings. The International Community of the Holy Sepulchre (ICoHS) works together with local churches to provide support for families in the Holy Land. This Christmas we want to provide families with foodpackages. One food package costs $45 per family. Local crafts people in Bethlehem made star ornaments of olivewood from the Sheperds Fields and mother of pearl, which will be given away for every $10 donation. In this way people can bring the Star of Bethlehem to their homes this Christmas and help a remarkable community of faith preserve this holy and humble land for future generations.
