A critical situation demands immediate intervention at a school in Tanzania. Despite the encouraging growth in student enrollment, the persistent burden of poor sanitation is undermining educational progress, contributing to unacceptable dropout and completion rates. The 451 students (including 200 girls) and 11 teachers at this public school are currently facing daily health risks due to severely inadequate pit latrines with no handwashing provisions. This urgent project offers a lifeline by providing a complete clean water system and essential, gender-separated sanitation facilities – 6 latrines each for girls and boys, and 2 for teachers – alongside a much-needed 12-student handwashing trough. Addressing these unsanitary conditions with urgency is not just about infrastructure; it's about ensuring the basic health, safety, and dignity of these students and educators, paving the way for a brighter educational future.
