Harrington Center for the Arts produces programming with a priority of supporting local artists and making art more accessible to the general public. 46% of all artists in the US are women, yet female artists are underrepresented in most artistic professions. HCA is working to build a supportive community for creative women and mothers to CONNECT with other like-minded creative females, SHARE their creative story, COLLABORATE and form creative partnerships, and FLOURISH by using their core creative identity to feel purpose and fulfillment. We aim to provide more opportunities that expose young female creatives to art-related careers. Our programs and committees address the need for consistent opportunities for residential labs, performance platforms, and mentorships for women of all ages. Donations will be used to provide art supplies, stipends for teachers, purchase of equipment for instruction and online resources, and the mentorship of twenty young female artists over eight months.
