We have a local organization called WAVI (Working Against Violence, Inc) whose primary goal is to assist in providing shelter and support services for survivors of domestic violence, sexual assault and human trafficking in Western South Dakota.
WAVI is a well known organization in our community that has helped so many wonderful people when they are going through unpleasant situations. WAVI had missed out on several fundraising opportunities over the past few years due to Covid and were concerned that they were not going to have the supplies they needed to take care of the amount of people that were needing help. We thought that this was a good fit for a possible Healing Hands match because of their mission and goal.
The volunteers were able to provide 40-50 hours on this project that supplied approximately 100 people with necessary supplies for day-to-day life.
