School items for homeless students Eau Claire Area School District Homeless Students

The Eau Claire Area School District identifies approximately 250 students each year who are experiencing homelessness during that school year, and they have a 94% turnover rate each year. Eau Claire county is the 2nd lowest income county in Wisconsin with more than 40% of households at or near the poverty line. The Eau Claire Area School District Homeless Program collects donations through the Eau Claire Public Schools Foundation to provide items and direct services to these students so that their education is minimally affected by their homeless situation. 100% of the donations received are used to purchase items or pay for necessary services, like transportation, medical needs, and more.
