Sound processor upgrades delivered

This project was set up to raise funds to help cochlear implant recipients with the ongoing costs of their external hearing equipment. Without working equipment, cochlear implant recipients are back to being deaf 100% of the time. With the working equipment, they can participate and thrive in the daily life of the hearing world. Many insurances do not help with these ongoing costs. Basic components, such as a rechargeable battery can cost several hundred dollars. A full upgrade of the external device costs over $12,000, making it out of reach for many people. Yet without this critical technology, they will not be able to go to school, their employment could be at risk, and their safety can be compromised.

Sarah is in her 20's and not having reliable hearing (working sound processors) was not only causing her a lot of stress, but it was impacting her ability to do her job.

Ten year old Jovel was the recipient of two sound processor upgrades (one for each ear) enabling him to have stable hearing in the classroom, at home and have important safety cues.

Sarah's Mom
Sarah is beyond excited and happy about her new "ears". I notice a big difference when we talk on the phone (which has always been difficult). Thank you again for your kindness!
