Providing Heart Surgeries in Vietnam GIBTK Annual Fundraiser

We provided heart surgery for four children in Quang Nam, Da Nang and Quang Ngai provinces.

These patients were identified thanks to the screening programs carried out by our local partners, Hoan My and Da Nang hospitals. GIBTK’s staff works on every step of the selection process, from receiving their application form to reviewing information of patient’s family and confirming it with the hospitals and local authorities. We work closely with the hospitals on the patients’ health conditions and surgery procedures. Apart from their surgery cost, we also cover food, travelling expenses, discharge expenses, and the first two post-operative check-ups.

Once a patient has a successful heart operation, GIBTK remains in touch and does follow-ups on their improvements afterwards. For every six months or a year, GIBTK contacts the patients to learn about their current situations. The involvement does not stop at providing lifesaving operations; the goal is about seeing them transform their life
