Support for the only human milk bank in Romania Milk for Life

Through our project, Milk for life, we aimed to support the only human milk bank in Romania. The bank provides life-saving human milk to over 400 premature and ill babies each year.
2020 has been tough. Due to restrictions, many mothers were not permitted to breastfeed. Instead, babies received donated milk, in sterile single-use bottles.
Annual costs for these bottles exceed USD 30,000, all financed by private donations. In last year's context, it was harder for the Association to raise funds. They were unsure for how long they could continue to cover these costs.
Our target was to raise a total of USD 30,000, representing costs for 2021. Throughout our 30-day campaign, we raised over USD 16,000. With the USD 15,000 grant offered through the Match program, we have reached a total of over USD 31,000. We have exceeded our target by 7%!
