Over people are learning to farm for themselves

This project is the fulfilment of a dream. Land that sat barren for decades, with countless attempts to become a farm sat as a wasteland. Land and tradition were taken from this family generations ago, so what land that was left, became useless without the knowledge and resources.

It takes more than one family to make a dream this big happen.

Over the years, we have partnered with this family, who started their own farming collective, found master farmers, gained training, to make this land a working farm. Their vision of a working farm was not just for them, but for the hundreds that live in abject poverty around them in rural South Africa.

Now, that dream is beginning to happen. The second well, the last bit of needed resources and the emerging partners to farm the lands are all in place.

School children, adult learning centres, neighbours are all coming to learn, to grow, to sell and to eat from this working farm.

2 Wells to water the farm.

New crops with the shading net.

Assembling the wells and other needed equipment.

Preparing the land for planting.

"Through our partnership, the hopes and dreams that my parents had for decades are almost reality... literally... we're standing at the edge of a new life in agriculture and community."
