There are nearly 17 million cancer survivors in the US. Lymphedema is a leading post-treatment complication for many cancer patients. Lymphedema is reversible if it is caught in Stage 0 or 1 and treated with simple at-home care. With L-Dex screening, education on prevention, and foundational health principles, patients reduce their risk of developing lymphedema 95%! However, this program is underutilized and patients are left to develop Stage 2 or 3 lymphedema which requires intensive lymphedema treatment and lifelong management. Patients require custom compression garments that need to be replaced every 6 months. Although lymphedema treatment is typically covered by health insurance, compression garments are not. Therefore, doTERRA wellness advocate Tracey Podolsky, PT, CLT-LANA has partnered with Dr. Sheri Prentiss, MD, founder of the L.I.V.E. Today Foundation to provide FREE compression garments and education to clinicians and patients on Lymphedema prevention and treatment.
