When Breslyn was diagnosed with leukemia at 3 years old, she was scared and confused. When sitting in the hospital, coping with treatment and tired from her daily fight, she would ask for one thing. A blanket. Something she could wrap herself inside and feel warm. The blanket was like a warm hug, comforting and secure. Breslyn continues to fight her disease. For kids like Breslyn, every day is a battle and a journey. Founded by Breslyn's mother, Breslyn’s Blankets of Love are dedicated to making that journey a little easier, a little happier, by providing blankets made with love to every child in need. This project will bring 500-600 volunteers and resources together in Central Iowa to make 500 fleece tie blankets in 2 days. The event will take place on September 18th and 19th during Childhood Cancer Awareness month, with the additional goal of creating awareness and support for individuals and families battling cancer.
