Presidential Diamond leader Kalli Wilson has joined together with doTERRA Healing Hands Foundation’s new Hope to Belong initiative. In part, the funding from this campaign will be used to support aftercare for survivors through Lighthouse Sanctuary.
Lighthouse Sanctuary, opened by Wellness Advocate Julie Hernando and her husband Junell in 2017, is designed to help and heal young children who are survivors of domestic abuse or child sex-trafficking. As a native of the Phillipines, Junell helped inspire his wife with the tremendous difference they could make for kids with no one else to turn to. Although this safe-house started small, able to care for up to 20 children, the Hernandos are growing the Lighthouse Sanctuary and see it as a life calling.
“Hope is being able to see that there is light despite all of the darkness.”
The horrendous reality of human trafficking includes the enslavement of 40.3 million* people worldwide, including both labor and sex trafficking. While doTERRA ensures that small scale farmers and harvesters are treated ethically, the doTERRA Healing Hands Foundation supports global organizations and projects to fight sexual exploitation. It is alarming how many children are enslaved and need our help. HOPE includes prevention, rescue and aftercare in a comprehensive model to fight human trafficking.
