Reliable healthcare can be difficult to come by in areas of Madagascar where doTERRA® Co-Impact Sourcing® harvests Ylang Ylang oil. In 2016, a mobile health clinic was established, in collaboration with health officers in the various village locations of Nosy Be, Madagascar.
One health officer from each village is provided with first aid kits and essential oils and trained in their respective and appropriate use. Additionally, a doctor visits each village twice a week to see patients in their homes.
“The mobile health clinic model has been extremely successful for reaching the many remote areas where our Ylang Ylang is harvested. In continuing our efforts to support the harvesting families of Nosy Be, once timing is right we plan to build a permanent medical clinic at the Ylang Ylang distillation compound - staffed and supplied to handle more serious health issues. This clinic will also handle maternity care and serve as the distribution point for mobile clinic officers to collect supplies for their visits in outlying villages.”
