Hundreds of migrants are stuck on the Poland-Belarus border: families, pregnant women and small children. They fled from war in their countries in search of safety in WE. Many have been tricked into paying for “easy and safe way” to a new life. They ended up, with no possibility of escape, between Polish and Belarussian border guards, who keep pushing them back to the other side of the barbed-wire fence at the border. Many families have experienced push back several times. Some of them were wounded and violently treated. Others have literally been thrown over the barbed-wire fence. Temperatures are low, even 0 at night. Children who live there have no water, food or shelter. The Polish border guards refuse to accept asylum applications and transport refugees back to the forest. We want to prevent further deaths and help the refugees get to centers where they can wait for their applications to be processed. We want to raise PLN 50 000 to pay for lawyers and interpreters.
