Supporting Children
Be a Mentor
Provide support to children in your community by being a positive role model.
You can volunteer in classrooms at local schools and libraries or you can get involved with after school programs. Possibilities include neighborhood youth clubs, local sports teams, and other related programs.
Volunteer
Service and caring for others are important values to teach children.
Find volunteer opportunities in your community that you can involve your children in. You can run a supply drive for a homeless shelter and have your children help with supply pick-ups and deliveries. You can also take children to visit the elderly at local retirement homes, singing songs and playing games to provide company. Ask your children for suggestions of what they’d like to do and be open to possibilities.
Other Ways to Support Children
Host a kid-friendly event
Positive, uplifting activities help kids learn important life skills in an uplifting environment. Organize a bike rodeo to teach bike safety, a healthy living kid fair, a book drive, or a community clean-up day. You could also consider a cyber-bullying education event or a chalk-the-block party in your neighborhood. Get creative and find a way to help the children in your community learn in a fun, safe setting.
Share
The first step in creating change is building awareness through sharing information. Sharing images, statistics, graphics, and videos takes only a moment, but can go a long way in supporting children. Visit doTERRA Social for resources you can share!
Complete a match
Use the Match Program to support initiatives focused on helping children. Double your impact by completing your project through the Match Program. Partner with an organization, submit your proposal, fundraise (doTERRA Healing Hands will Match!), and then follow up on the success of your project.

Use your voice
Meet with or write to your local, state, and federal elected officials to let them know you care about issues surrounding children in need and to ask what they are doing to address them. You can expand your influence by asking family, friends, and community members to do the same. Once you start opening your mouth and your heart to the issue, you will be surprised how opportunities will arise to help!
Support teachers
Teachers help shape and educate our future generations. Provide support for your local teachers. Write thank you cards or see if they could benefit from a supply drive. Find ways to express appreciation for educators.
